I always knew that I wanted kids, but wasn’t sure that I would be a very good mother. With a fantastic and loving husband that I KNEW would be a good dad, we took the plunge and now have two beautiful children, a three year old son Danny, born on Valentine’s Day and a 10-month old daughter, Demiana. Why I love being a mom, and incidentally, must know that I am a little bit good at it:
Danny
- First thing Danny does when he wakes up in the morning is say “I love you Mommy” and it absolutely must be the last thing he says at night
- He screams “I love you AND I like you Mommy!” down the hallway when I drop him off at Daycare
- He kisses me on both cheeks (there is a little Italian man’s soul somewhere in my toddler)
- And no matter whenever asked, and by who, he always answers this question “Who is your best friend?” with “Mommy”
Demiana
- The workers at Daycare say she is a very happy baby, but overall, have never seen a baby react so joyfully when she sees her Mommy or Daddy as Demi does when we walk in the room
- She refuses to crawl but will scoot on her tush all the way over to wherever I am
- She holds hands and giggles when driving in the car with her brother and likes nothing better than when we spell her name
- She loves to “growl” so rather than growling back, I started to say HI back to her. Now she proudly screams HI to everyone who passes her by … the earliest “talking” baby ever!
All the best,
Deborah
